And so it begins!

On Dec 25th we got the news of a house in Bennington Idaho that some friends of ours had! They called and offered us the house! It was a no brainer living in a 110yr old home with mold and mildew and only 900 sq ft with 1 bath and 3 tiny little bedrooms (picture on the left) or move into a 3200 sq ft home only 6yrs old and has 5bed rooms and 3 baths for just a little more than what we were paying... Um.... YES...Yes and a thousand times YES!!! So as you can imagine I started packing the next day so excited we took our first load to the house and this is what awaited for us!!....

(Maybe we were a little hasty with the yes factor)

The picture is no exaggeration our new driveway is like 200 yards long and it's in a valley so ALL the snow gets blown onto our driveway.. It's been...... um..... a challenge to say the least considering we do not have 4 wheel drive..... (thank goodness for the nicest neighbors, once I found out who they were!)

It took us about four full days to move in with the help of my brothers trucks and my inlaws Van... The day I took this picture it took us 18 hours to get up to our house.... let me explain... Chad was with us this trip and we had my inlaws huge 18 passenger van loaded with Tupperware but when we saw the drive way we knew we couldn't get up to the house without getting stuck so I text Jayson to see if he could come and plow it he said he would but it'd be a couple of hours so we decided to go buy chains for the van.. SO we did and we chained up and went back and waited for him.. (we walked up to the house so the kids could be in a warm place while we waited) when he got there we moved the van and he started plowing well just when we were getting ready to move the van up the lane (I had to back the van out first so Jayson could get out) well I did but just as I put the van into drive again the van just turned off.. So chad fiddled with things here and there and decided to get some starter fuel and spray it into the engine but when he did that the van caught on fire!! Yes I said FIRE we jumped out and threw snow on the engine (by the way part of the engine is inside the van in case your wondering) we got the fire out but the van wouldn't start so my brother and chad decided to try and tow the van up to the house... yeah that was a lot of fun.. we kept getting stuck because Jayson's trucks 4 wheel drive wasn't working and after about two hours of trying the van is stuck and the truck has a flat in the middle of our driveway.. We gave up for the night by this time it was close to 9pm and so cold it was hurting just to breathe.. Oh boy.. The next day William came and between Jayson, William and Chad they were able to get the van out about three hours later... The day all this happened was New Years EVE and New years Day so everything was closed... However they were able to find a place that would repair the spare tire (the spare had a hole in it too) for the truck that had the flat tire! It was an exhausting two days.. And this is just the beginning the first two days of living in our new home.... It took a huge propane heater two nights and three days to melt the van enough so chad could figure out what was wrong. He found out that the main wire that connects to the engine had fallen off (a whole 2 min job to fix) Chad was fixed to be tied! We never made it to church that Sunday because we got snowed in! (first of many times) Well enough for now I'll post again soon to let you know what happened next!!!
HINT (It's sad but has a happy ending)
P.S. The last two pictures are of the New house and the barn behind the house....
